Happy Monday traveler!
This week we are traveling to Oslo, Norway, a city that quietly surprises you.
It blends sleek Scandinavian design, deep history, and breathtaking nature in a way few capitals can.
We were inspired by the lifestyle, welcoming tone, and general interest people had in others. Perhaps that has something to do with the explorative nature of Viking history. These people were curious and would do just about anything for pioneering.
The city is modern but also a great reminder of history at the same time. You’ll be inspired to learn from the past but also focus on taking care of yourself so the world can be a better place in the future.

🙌🏼This Week’s Inspiration
Oslo is a place where museums, forests, fjords, and modern architecture all coexist effortlessly.
What makes Oslo interesting is its balance. You can explore cultural landmarks in the morning, cruise the fjord in the afternoon, and still be surrounded by nature by evening.
The city reflects Norway’s values of sustainability, peace, and quality of life, making it both beautiful and meaningful to visit.
Here are some standout places to experience while in Oslo.
Vigeland Sculpture Park is unlike any park in the world. With more than 200 sculptures by Gustav Vigeland, it explores the full range of human emotion and relationships. Walking through it feels reflective and powerful.
The Viking Ship Museum offers a rare look at remarkably preserved Viking ships over 1,000 years old. These vessels reveal Norway’s seafaring legacy and its influence on European history. It is one of the most memorable cultural stops in the city.

The Viking Ship Museum
The Munch Museum is home to Edvard Munch’s iconic painting The Scream. Multiple versions of the work are displayed alongside other pieces that reveal his emotional and artistic depth. It is a must for art lovers.

Akershus Fortress stands guard over the Oslofjord. This medieval castle has served as a royal residence, military stronghold, and symbol of Norwegian resilience. The views alone make the visit worthwhile.
The Nobel Peace Center highlights the stories of Nobel Peace Prize recipients from around the world. Located near the harbor, it offers a thoughtful and inspiring look at global efforts toward peace and justice.

The Nobel Peace Center
Oslo City Hall is where the Nobel Peace Prize ceremony is held each year. Inside, striking murals depict Norway’s history, labor movement, and cultural values. It is both historic and visually impressive.
The Holmenkollen Ski Jump is one of Oslo’s most famous landmarks. You can ride to the top for panoramic views of the city, forest, and fjord below. The adjoining ski museum showcases Norway’s deep connection to winter sports.

Can you imagine going down this ski jump?
The Fram Museum focuses on polar exploration and daring Arctic and Antarctic expeditions. Visitors can step inside original ships used by explorers who pushed the limits of human endurance.
The Oslo Opera House is a unique building to explore. Its sloped white marble roof is designed to be walked on, allowing visitors to climb to the top for sweeping views of the harbor and city.

The Oslo Opera House
Aker Brygge is a vibrant waterfront district filled with restaurants, shops, and harbor views. It is an ideal place to stroll, dine, and watch the city come alive, especially in the warmer months.

What are you most excited about in Oslo?
How to Get to Oslo:
Getting to Oslo is easy, with most travelers arriving at Oslo Gardermoen Airport. A fast and efficient train connects the airport to the city center in about 20 minutes.
Oslo’s public transportation system is clean, reliable, and easy to navigate. Trams, buses, ferries, and the metro all operate under one ticket system, making it simple to explore without a car. Walking is also a very popular way of getting around and motivated us to start walking to places more when we returned home.
Where to Stay:
Hotel Christiania Teater - more than a century old, and was once Norway’s first opera stage
Amerikalinjen - vibrant, boutique hotel with breakfast included
Hotel Continental Oslo - located in the middle of Oslo, breakfast included
The Thief - located on the harbour
What to Eat:
Norwegian cuisine is simple yet comforting. '
Brown goat cheese, known as brunost, is a local favorite with a sweet, caramel-like flavor.
Fresh salmon, fish soup, meatballs, and open-faced sandwiches called smørbrød are also popular staples.
*The brunost was our favorite food in their.
What to Pack:
When packing for Oslo, think layers. Weather can change quickly, even in summer.
Bring comfortable walking shoes, a waterproof jacket, and clothing that can adapt to cool mornings and mild afternoons.
