Zürich is the type of city where it is impossible to be bored, and you want time to slow down. There are so many things to do.

Welcome to Zürich

Stroll through Zürich’s Old Town and wander cobblestone streets lined with colorful guild houses, medieval clock towers, and historic churches like Grossmünster and Fraumünster.

Walk along Lake Zürich or take a relaxing boat cruise on the water for peaceful views of the city, nearby villages, and the Alps in the distance.

Ride the Polybahn up the hill to the Polybahn Viewpoint for sweeping panoramic views of the rooftops, river, and lake below.

So many delicious kinds of chocolate

Football (soccer) fans will want to check out the FIFA Museum.

Explore Bahnhofstrasse for world famous shopping, luxury storefronts, cozy cafés, and some of the best people watching in Zürich.

How to Get to Zürich:

Zürich is home to one of Europe’s major international airports. Zürich Airport offers direct flights from many large cities in the United States and across Europe.

The city center is only about 10 minutes away by train from the airport. Zürich’s public transportation system includes trams, buses, and trains that are clean, fast, and easy to use. Many visitors purchase a Zürich Card for unlimited transportation and museum discounts.

Make sure to have a window seat when flying into Zürich

Where to Stay:

What to Eat:

  • Try Zürcher Geschnetzeltes, which is sliced veal in a creamy mushroom sauce served with crispy rösti.

  • Warm cheese fondue and raclette are popular Swiss favorites.

  • Fresh bread, pastries, and buttery croissants are everywhere in local bakeries.

  • Swiss chocolate is a must, and Zürich has some of the best chocolate shops in the world.

What to Pack:

  • Pack comfortable walking shoes for exploring the Old Town and lakeside paths. Bring layers, as the weather can change quickly throughout the day. A light jacket is useful even in summer.

  • In winter, pack a warm coat, gloves, and waterproof boots.

  • Do not forget a universal power adapter and a small backpack for daily adventures.

Why Zürich Inspired Us:

Zürich shows how history, innovation, nature, and everyday life can exist in perfect balance.

In one day, you can walk medieval streets, cruise on a quiet lake, and enjoy world class food and culture.

It is a city that feels both peaceful and exciting, reminding us that travel can restore and inspire at the same time.
